After a day of wandering El Born, strolling through Eixample, or biking towards the beach, you crave one thing: elevation. Views. Air. A glass in your hand. Here are five rooftop hotels in Barcelona I'd personally choose, each with its own flair and neighborhood.
Hotel Brummell: A Rooftop Hotel in Barcelona's Most Gritty District
Hotel Brummell is located in Poble Sec, right next to Montjuïc, and you'll feel it as soon as you enter. Few tourists, plenty of locals, streets yet to be featured in major guides. Raw edges, good neighbors. The hotel itself is the opposite of its surroundings: personal, homey, design that's not too cold. We had breakfast on the back patio. Quiet, green, just the kind of morning you crave. On the roof, an intimate plunge pool. No beach club, no DJ, just water and silence after a warm city day. A block away is Restaurant Margarit, one of my favorite spots in town. Locals Only! Hotel Brummell is the cheapest option on this list.
Yurbban Passage: Hotel Barcelona with a Pool in the Heart of El Born
Yurbban Passage takes its name from the passage it overlooks. A beautiful 19th-century building in the midst of El Born, surrounded by tapas bars and boutiques that shape this neighborhood. The hotel is modern with sleek design, yet still maintains an intimate atmosphere. On the roof, a streamlined pool overlooking Barcelona's rooftops—perfect for a morning dip or an evening moment. The Hoxton Barcelona: Rooftop Pool, Free Bicycles, and the Beach Nearby
The Hoxton sits in Poblenou, a more creative, calmer area closer to the beach than the historic center. The interior is atmospheric, the lobby and bar are places where you linger longer than planned. On the roof: pool, bar, and views. Livelier than Brummell, with a more international vibe. We took the free bicycles and explored the entire area. In Poblenou, you hardly encounter a tourist early in the morning. The beach is a ten-minute bike ride. There's also a great restaurant at the hotel. Or, head to Masa Vins, a delightful wine bar within walking distance.
Hotel 1898: Classic Hotel on La Rambla with Indoor Pool and Large Rooftop Terrace
Normally I say avoid La Rambla. But for Hotel 1898, I make an exception. From above, you don't feel the hustle below. Large rooftop terrace, wide city views, and a wonderful pool. The hotel's style is more classic than the other four, with a hint of Americana. This hotel is perfect for those who want everything within walking distance and prefer not to choose between a pool or prime location. It's at the top end of the price range here.

Casa Bonay: No Pool, but Eixample’s Best Rooftop Bar
Casa Bonay doesn’t have a pool, but you won't miss it. The rooftop bar is cozy, green, filled with wooden tables and natural wine, attracting a mix of locals and hotel guests who all know exactly why they're here. The hotel, housed in a 19th-century building in Eixample, offers everything you need, including a rooftop restaurant, café Chiringuito TosTao, cocktail bar Libertine, and restaurant Bodega Bonay. Ideal for those who value atmosphere over a pool.
