Because saving on your hotel is great, but not if you end up spending forty-five minutes getting to the city every morning.
In Paris, affordable is also relative. A hotel room for €180 per night might not be considered budget-friendly elsewhere, but for a charming hotel in a good location in Paris, it's quite a find. The hotels in this selection start roughly from €150 to €225 per night, depending on the hotel, travel dates, and availability.

Hotel Amoi
This gem is located on Rue du Château d'Eau in the 10th, near Canal Saint-Martin. Super central. Unassuming from the outside but well-kept and stylish inside, with bright rooms in fresh colors. It's not a large hotel, which I find pleasant: service is personal and friendly. Metro station Jacques Bonsergent is a short walk, and the restaurants and bars of Canal Saint-Martin are practically around the corner.
A great choice if you’re looking for an affordable hotel in Paris with a pleasant atmosphere in a lively neighborhood. Nearby is Holy Belly, a perfect spot for breakfast.

Hotel Henriette
Tucked away on a quiet street in the 13th arrondissement, about a ten-minute walk from Rue Mouffetard and the Latin Quarter. This hotel is interesting because you’re not in the tourist hustle but within a reasonable walking distance of everything.
Each of the 32 rooms is uniquely decorated, with a mix of vintage and modern flair. The courtyard with trees is one of the loveliest places for breakfast if the weather cooperates. Metro station Les Gobelins is nearby, giving you direct access to the Louvre. A hotel that delivers more than you'd expect at first glance, and easily my personal favorite on this list.

Hotel mk2 Paradiso
The first cinema-hotel in Paris, and the concept is as unique as it sounds. Every room features a 3-meter wide screen that unfolds from the wall, with a laser projector and surround sound. Choose your movie on a tablet, order popcorn via room service, and watch from your bed as if you’re in a cinema.
Created by the brothers behind the mk2 cinema chain, with contributions from artists like JR and Christian Boltanski, the hotel is also worth it artistically. On top of the building, you'll find a rooftop with a bar and open-air cinema. The hotel is in the 12th arrondissement, directly above the mk2 Nation complex. For those seeking something entirely different from a classic Paris hotel, it's one of the most original options in this price range.

Hotel Panache
In a 19th-century building on the corner of Faubourg Montmartre and Rue Geoffroy-Marie, right in the vibrant Grands Boulevards quarter in the 9th arrondissement. Interior designer Dorothée Meilichzon chose a whimsical approach fitting the triangular layout of the property: art-deco details, floating feather crowns above the beds, and a color palette hovering between navy, forest green, and anthracite.
The 40 rooms are all uniquely decorated. The Café Panache on the ground floor also attracts a local crowd, giving the hotel a lively atmosphere. Metro station Grands Boulevards is within walking distance, and the Passages Jouffroy and Panoramas are just around the corner. Not a sanctuary of tranquility, but a hotel that makes you feel like you’re right in the heart of Paris.

On Boulevard Raspail in the 14th arrondissement, near Montparnasse. From here, you can walk to La Coupole, one of the most beautiful classic brasseries in Paris, and to the theaters and galleries of the surrounding area. Metro station Vavin is nearby. The rooms are spacious by Paris standards, stylishly designed with a modern feel and marble bathrooms. For those who want to stay on the left bank but avoid the high prices of Saint-Germain, this is a sound and charming alternative.

C.O.Q Hotel
C.O.Q stands for Community of Quality, and that concept resonates throughout the hotel. In the 13th arrondissement on Rue Edouard Manet, an area that has become one of the most interesting spots in the south of Paris over recent years. The decor is bold in color, with blue rooms, cheerful interiors, and a lobby more akin to a neighborhood bar than a hotel reception. Affordable, stylish, and with an atmosphere that delivers exactly what this article promises.

Le Grand Quartier
Opened in 2019 in the 10th arrondissement, near Canal Saint-Martin and Gare de l'Est. The early 20th-century building hides a courtyard, café, rooftop, meeting rooms, and 83 hotel rooms behind a white façade. It's a larger hotel yet warm and thoughtful, with wooden floors, plants, and an ambiance more reminiscent of a design hotel than a conventional one.
The rooftop offers views over Parisian rooftops and the historic town hall of the 10th. Metro station Jacques Bonsergent is a three-minute walk away. A hotel perfectly located for those wanting Canal Saint-Martin as a base, in a neighborhood that has become one of the most delightful in Paris in recent years.

Hôtel de la Herse d'Or
Located on Rue Saint-Antoine in the 4th (that’s Le Marais), within walking distance of Place des Vosges. For the price, you'll find yourself surprisingly central in one of the most charming neighborhoods of Paris. The second branch of Hotel Henriette, my all-time favorite. That says something about the standard set here. On Boulevard du Montparnasse in the 6th, near the Jardin du Luxembourg and within walking distance of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. With 27 rooms, a coffee bar open to all, a winter garden, and a piano bar, it shares the same personal vibe as its sister in the 13th, but in one of the most expensive and treasured neighborhoods of Paris. If you're willing to pay a bit more for this locale, you'll stay in a hotel whose ambiance and interior rival more costly alternatives in the same district.

Hôtel Collège de France
On Rue Thénard in the 5th, a hundred meters from the namesake university and near the Panthéon and the Jardin du Luxembourg. A family hotel in the best sense: personal, clean, and unpretentious. The rooms are not large, but the location more than compensates for it. Right in the heart of Montmartre in the 18th, featuring a charming interior with a nod to the artistic history of the neighborhood. Final Thoughts

Paying a bit more for a nice neighborhood is often a better choice than opting for the lowest room rate and ending up in an area where you have no business being.
